ABOUT

CartogrAP is a game jam original made for 'Archipelago Game Jam: The Async'. 

Start in a small, plain region and expand your search as you explore your procedurally generated landscape of squares. Obtain items to unlock new regions, complete a variety of quests and find all of the region chests to complete the game!

Features

Journey back and forth through 6 distinct regions with fun gimicks. Obtain the right items to access and explore quirky, unique landscapes.

Moving over new spaces will either unlock new areas, an item, or money to use to your advantage and move forward

Take on formiddable quests like the speedrun challenge, the 'shortest path' challenge and the elusive 'treasure hunt'. They'll change their path each time you activate them.

Quests will mold their difficulty and challenges around your choices and item RNG so you wont ecounter unfair challenges.

Upgrade 6 unique items when going 'shoppies!' to  streamline your adventuring experience and make quest challenges more achievable.

Choose between 'Light Mode' and 'Dark Mode' for your own personalised viewing pleasure, all sprites change based on what is optimal for each mode as well.

Join Archipelago community runs and syncs with this game and run it anywhere, anytime. Making this both an enjoyable single player game and a multiplayer experience within a sync.

CONTROLS

Use WASD or the arrow keys to move around.

The SPACE button is used to interact with tiles below you.

Press F to catch fish

Use the left stick to move around

Press the highlighted confirm button on the gamepad to interact with tiles and interactables below you.

How do I get started?

This game is only playable with the 'Archipelago launcher' tool and the official website generator. Please read the  setup instructions  and seek help from the official discord server if you have trouble with setup and generation.

you'll need this to generate the YAML needed to generate your randomisation.
